Millbank Memorial Library
The Millbank Library is one of the largest and most comprehensive educational research libraries in the Nation. The resource collections reflect the University’s commitment to the advanced study of education. The complex design for the new Library celebrated the many examples of historic architecture found on campus.
Work included restoration of the ornate masonry exterior and the replacement and rehabilitation of the existing leaded glass windows and transoms. The Gothic Tudor inspired main entrance lobby was restored to its original character. New Offices, Services, and Public space were completely renovated in an updated style reminiscent of this Institution’s great history.
Intricate and high end finishes complimented a total retrofit of the Library’s mechanical, electrical systems, telecommunication, data, and audio visual systems were integrated to produce multimedia centers which are comparable to other premiere installations with the newest technologies.
The Project embodies the character and charm of a historic structure with the pulse of a modern technologically advanced environment which will be utilized for many decades to come.
