The Heschel High School
Originally built in the 1950's as an industrial facility and later converted to New York City Public School PS-IS 252, the Abraham Joshua Heschel High School project entails a complete restructuring of the original property.
The High School accommodates three hundred students offering the highest level of academic and cultural amenities with a religious center, music art and drama studios, science laboratories, a new library, media center, systems, a 5,000 sq. ft. rooftop athletic area, and a state-of-the-art two-story gymnasium.
The design incorporates highly advanced telecommunications, audiovisual, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and conveying systems. A new two-story, 20,000 sq. ft. addition will require the infrastructure to be re-supported and shored, using foundation grouting and structural bolstering methods.
This challenging fast-track project is scheduled for completion within an eight-month period, thus requiring the use of forecasting methods, critical path scheduling, and pre-purchasing of all long lead items.
Once complete, the Abraham Joshua Heschel High School will offer a unique and valuable addition to the roster of New York City Private Schools.
