The Metropolitan Museum of Art Egyptian Gallery
Because of its performance on other projects within the Museum, RCDolner was hired as construction manager to oversee the dramatic reconstruction of the Egyptian Gallery. Structural reinforcement of existing walls and floors was required in order to support the new artifact installation.
Extensive electrical work was required for the new custom display cases and new lighting schemes. At the completion of these infrastructure improvements, all existing plaster walls were refinished, new custom crown moldings added, and new stone flooring and base were installed. RCDolner completed this work while maintaining the Museum’s normal hours of operation.
