Gotham Plaza
New construction of a 90,000 sf mixed-use commercial space on East 125th Street in Harlem. The space consists of three levels with both on-grade and sub-grade parking containing 250 spaces. The ground floor is currently occupied by retails tenants, while the second and third floors are occupied by a not-for-profit organization, Lifespire Inc., and the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles.
Metal panels and glass were used for the exterior of the building with natural materials like slate and stone for the interior. Glass was used on southern exposure to bring in natural light for the occupants. Ceramic frit was also applied to the glass to regulate the increase in temperature related to natural light.
